evidence

Here is proof that I am dreadfully frugal cheap.  If plastic bags haven't had anything horrendous in them like raw meat or onions, I wash and reuse them:

Exhibit A.

Exhibit B.

Am I the only person on earth who does this?  I guess I don't think it's that weird because my mom did it too!

My in-laws do this all the time. My mother-in-law even re-uses bags that other things come in for all sorts of things. I don't think they do it because they're cheap, rather, they do it to be eco-friendly and create less waste. I will admit that my husband and I don't generally reuse them though, but we try to reduce our use of them when we can.

A little over a year ago we bought snacktaxi and since I've heard good things about them we may try them when we next buy reusable lunch baggies.

Apparently my first comment got slightly mangled... I meant to say we bought lunchskins at www.lunchskins.com a year ago for my daughters' lunches, and love them. Especially since they can be washed in the dishwasher.

I've thought about trying snacktaxi at www.snacktaxi.com next time we buy, as I've heard good things about them too.

(Not only did the text get mangled, so did my links. Sorry about that!)

Ooo, Andrea - love them both! What a great idea. And yes, my cheapness is at the heart of it, but I also hate throwing anything away that I can use again.

The snacktaxi products are so cute - all the prints! I wish one of them made something equivalent to a gallon-size freezer bag. That seems to be what we use the most of these days.

I've been doing this for YEARS! Yup! Totally not weird, but very smart. :)

p.s. Hey friend - I'm linking to this post tomorrow as a part of my Waste Not Wednesday feature on re-using containers for tupperware. :)

Nice - thanks for the link! Glad to know others can benefit from my crazy ways.
